When you think about it, your feet are among the least strange sleeping spots your cat has.
While we can never be sure what goes through a cat’s mind, I can make a few good guesses as to why your cat sleeps between your legs or lays on your feet.

1. I Don’t Want to Get Hurt
Unless you’ve got one of those large cat breeds, such as the Main Coon, you are a lot bigger than your cat.
As such, it’s easy for you to roll over while sleeping and accidentally crush your cat.
That was one of my concerns when Ronnie started sleeping in my bed.
Usually, most kittens love to sleep on your chest because they can listen to your heartbeat.
It relaxes them because it reminds your kitty of their mother and how protected they felt around her.
However, kittens learn to adapt when they learn that humans tend to toss and turn in bed.
They aren’t stupid, and they understand that sleeping on you can be dangerous.

My Ronnie usually sleeps next to my feet, but she leaves enough distance for me to feel comfortable.

I always tended to assume that my cat slept on my feet for warmth. She was always seemed to go for the warm spots in the house.

Our 1 yr old puppy sleeps on our feet and our laps as well. Never really understood why but hey it’s winter and it’s cold and we don’t mind the extra warmth. It’s like a weighted blanket for our feet.

We have two cats and a large dog; the cats rule. The dog more or less avoids them or waits his turn when one of them is walking down the hall. He won’t try to pass because he’ll most likely get smacked. He’s a darling who looks ferocious and barks like he wants to eat you. But it’s all fake, he loves people.
Both of our cats are very affectionate. Our female jumps on my lap as soon as I sit down in my recliner. She’d stay with me for hours and hours if I didn’t get up. She loves being stroked and cuddled. Our male cat loves to head-butt. It’s his way of saying “I want a cuddle”. So I pick him up and he curls himself around my neck, purring constantly. If I’m sitting at the computer he’ll jump up on my lap then go to my neck and once again, wrap himself around me. I can rub him, stroke him, kiss him and purr back to him – he LOVES it all and reciprocates by trying to groom me. He’s an incredible lover-boy and one of the nicest cats we’ve every had. And I’ve had cats all my life.

I have several cats, all of which came from a very abused stray who came to my door pregnant and hungry.it has taken me 3years to get her to not shake and run every time I went near her. My Raaja loves sleeping on my feet when I sleep, and when I’m awake she’s sleeping right next to me with some part of her body touching me… As well as when I’m up moving around, it never fails…. She’s right there under my feet rubbing and talking to me!!!! I love it though!!! I know she has great love for me, as much as I do her!! I found her when she was roughly 4wks old, sitting by the door one the leasing office of where I live!!! She was pretty sick too! So I scooped her up and took her home!!!; October 4th 2019 was the day our lives changed forever…… And I wouldn’t have it any other way!!! We were both looking for something that was missing in our lives at that time….. I was lonely and she was lost too young to fend for herself!!! Show every since that day, We’ve been unseparable and I’ve always safe within the walls of our home!!!! And as far as I go, she changed my life forever that cool October morning!!!! She’s the best friend that I’ve ever had, we have/feel the safest with complete ease when we’re together!!!! I’d be lost without her!!!
I have a cute kitten, he is more than 2 years old. When he was a child he would wrap me up and lie down next to me to sleep, especially on cold days he would wrap me up more and more, lay in the blanket, and lie down next to me all night. What I’m afraid of sounds weird, but I’m concerned that I might move in my sleep and maybe bump into him and cause him pain.
